The US Military has banned the sale of the latest Medal of Honor video game on all bases. The reasoning behind it is that in part of the game the player can play as the Taliban and shoot US soldiers. http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/plugged-in/military-bans-video-game-that-kills-us-troops/1410232
About a month or more ago I posted a thread which asked the question why nobody has created a game where the "good guys" became the enemy. It seems at that someone has partially somewhat done this. Kudos. EA finally shows some balls. Maybe baddies in shooters will be a little more diverse in the future. I for one am getting tired of shooting Germans, Russians, Japanese, Arabs and South Americans. I want some new ethnicities and nationalities to throw grenades at. With the new Medal of Honor game I'll get to do just that.
All it takes is one small step, eh? You could play as "the other side" since... okay, more recently, since Counter-Strike. But who cares, you know. It's just feeble wiggling in the face of freedom of expression. At least, so I hope.
