GTA: San Andreas Technical Improvements and System Specs(PC)

On this page you will see not only the graphical improvements of the coming GTA game, but also the predicted system specs for PC users.

Any rumor about some older PS2 models not being compatible with the game's DVD are false. Rockstar stated that they're making a game which will run on all PS2 consoles.

Graphics improvements:
  • Overhauled graphics engine means crisper quality, realistic shadowing and reflections, and independent day- and night-time models.
  • New shadow system - "radiosity lighting"
  • New foliage and plant design - "procedural rendering".
  • A number of breakable small objects are present in the game (fences, barrels, etc.). This is a huge improvement, but it also puts the strain on the graphic engine.
  • The draw distance is now twice that of Vice City in urban areas and 4 times that of VC in the countryside.
Minimum(predicted) PC specs:
Minimum minimorum (not sure if the game will run on this config):
Operating System: Windows 98/2000/ME/XP
Processor: Pentium PIII 800 MHz Processor or AMD Athlon
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce? or ATI Radeon? 7000 or higher
CD-ROM: 4X or Faster
RAM: 256 MB RAM
Of course, you need a mouse, a keyboard, speakers and, oh, yes - preferably a monitor, too. Just in case, you know. And don't forget to plug in and switch the power on before playing.
Recommended (by me):
Operating System: Windows XP
Processor: CPU Pentium 4 2.4GHz or Athlon 2200
Video Card: Geforce FX 5700 or Radeon 9600 or higher
CD-ROM: CDRom 52x or DVD Rom 16x
RAM: 512 MB RAM

Hey, I have a problem with my game. The mouse controls don't seem to work, even though i set the controls to "Keyboard/Mouse". So I'm stuck with the keyboard manual gun aim system, which isn't half as good as the mouse aim, especially with weapons with first-person (completely manual) aiming. Can someone help me? Oh, and my friend also has the same problem on his computer, running Vice City. We tried GTA3, but on both computers the mouse controls worked perfectly.

replays on the xbox are really bad... if you have a parachute it spawns at you hand. Plane wheels keep sticking out, and the blue things at the hydra dont change....
